Play Therapy uses play to communicate, and help children, from ages 3 through 12, to help deal with psychological challenges –anxiety, parental separation, trauma, death, illness, etc.
Through play therapy, children are able to express their experiences and feelings through a natural, self-guided & self-healing process. Children will be helped towards healthier and better social integration, growth and development.
A child's natural way of communicating is via play and via the trained play therapist they can process their issues, concerns, troubles and gain insight and mastery over the situation. I am trained in various modalities (Theraplay, Filial, Sandplay, non directive, directive, Autplay) and together we can work out which modality best suits your child.
I am a Play Therapy Supervisor (RPT-S) registered with the Australasia Pacific Play Therapy Association (APPTA) also a member of the College of Supervisors with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA - Level 4).
As a qualified counsellor and level 4 ACA member I am a NDIS provider.
Contact me and arrange a free 15 min phone consult to see if I am the right fit for you.

This is Starsky - he is a toy poodle in training to assist me help children. Most dogs are playful, accepting, social, present, and honest. These qualities are naturally inviting for children – particularly those who have been impacted by trauma, or mental/emotional barriers. Animal Assisted Therapy provides therapeutic opportunities for kids to experience unconditional, positive, and accepting relationships that may not have been able to be achieved with human-human interactions. Starsky only attends when it is deemed helpful for the client.
